Hi, we’re the Gerhardt Family — and Second Star Bernedoodles began as a dream, one rooted in love, family, and a little bit of Neverland magic. ✨🐾
Our story started with a deep love for animals and a lifelong belief that dogs make life better in every possible way. After bringing home our first Bernedoodle, Nana, we fell head over heels for her loyal, gentle, and joyful nature — it felt like discovering a bit of magic right here on earth.
What began as one beloved family dog quickly grew into a passion for raising happy, healthy, and well-loved Bernedoodles. Each puppy is raised right here in our home, surrounded by care, laughter, and everyday family life. We’re hands-on from the very first breath to the moment they find their forever home — because to us, every pup is a piece of our story.

Nana Darling -The Heart of Neverland
Every story needs its calm in the chaos — and that’s our Nana Darling.
At 2.5 years old and 50 lbs, she’s the gentle balance to Tootles’ goofy charm. Wise beyond her years, loving to her core, and endlessly patient, Nana is the steady heartbeat of Second Star Bernedoodles.
Her nurturing nature shines through in everything she does — from cuddling close to watching over every pup like a true guardian of Neverland.
Fully health-tested, vaccinated, and full of love, our Nana Darling proves that the best kind of magic is the kind that feels like home. ✨
Puppy Health & Well-Being
The health and well-being of our puppies is our top priority from the very first day.
Every Second Star Bernedoodle is raised in our home with love, socialization, and careful attention to both physical and emotional development.
Before your puppy goes home, you can expect:
🐾 Veterinary Care – Each puppy receives a full health exam from our licensed veterinarian to ensure they’re healthy and thriving.
💉 Vaccinations & Deworming – Puppies are kept on schedule for age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming treatments prior to going home.
🧬 Health-Tested Parents – Both of our parent dogs are Embark DNA tested to screen for genetic conditions and ensure sound breeding practices.
📋 Health Record – You’ll receive a detailed health record showing your puppy’s vet visits, vaccine schedule, and deworming history.
🩶 Transition Support – Each puppy goes home with a small blanket or toy that smells like their littermates, food, as well as bag of necessities to help support the transition to his or her new environment.
We’re proud to raise our puppies with care, transparency, and a touch of Neverland magic — so when they take their first flight home, you can rest easy knowing they’ve been loved every step of the way. ✨
Deposit & Pricing
Providing Everything You Need to Know
To reserve your puppy from an upcoming litter, we require a $500 non-refundable deposit.✨
This deposit secures your spot on our waiting list and will be applied toward your puppy’s total purchase price.
Remaining payment is due when your puppy is ready to head home (usually around 8 weeks old).
Puppy Selection

Puppy Picks are made in the order deposits are received, once temperament testing and evaluations are completed (typically around 6 weeks of age).

Pricing Policy
At Second Star Bernedoodles, each puppy is raised with love, care, and a touch of Neverland magic. ✨
Because every puppy is unique, pricing can vary slightly depending on size, coat type, and coloring.
Standard Pricing:
Our Bernedoodle puppies typically range from $1,500 - $2,500. This price reflects the care and commitment we put into raising healthy, well-socialized puppies — including early neurological stimulation, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, health checks, and a full Embark DNA test on our parents. We also start both leash training and turf potty training so they are ready to go home potty trained.
